Kim Gottlieb-Walkeris an author of Lenswoman in Love – a novel of the 1960s & ’70.
After a 50-year career as a photographer (underground press, rock & roll, and on TV and movie sets in the late ’60s and throughout the ’70s), I let my colorful life inform writing a second-chance romance and, in retirement, have reinvented myself as a novelist. It not only preserves and illuminates history, but keeps the mind alive and vital. I love to share what I’ve learned with those who would love to write novels, and I belong to numerous writers’ organizations.
Anyone who experienced that glorious era, or wishes they had. Anyone who loves historical fiction and wants the vicarious experience of living in the times I write about, all in a first-person perspective.Those who love romance and accurate historical representation (times change, but emotions are timeless and universal).
My experiences, my passions, my love of writing and sharing knowledge. My novel has won over a dozen literary awards and has rave reviews from both pros and readers. I also started a weekly Zoom meeting with other women writers, all over 70, to share our knowledge, to celebrate each other’s victories, and commiserate over our challenges. I also host a monthly “greenroom” Zoom for members of the Writers and Publishers network.
I have a free Substack that shows some of the rock and popular culture photos I shot that helped inform the novel (including Jimi Hendrix, Andy Warhol, and many others).
